The Manifold Inn in Hulme End, Derbyshire is another hidden gem. There are plenty of good pubs in the Peak District, but this one not only feels good, but also served cracking food at an honest price. Looks a bit grim from the outside (UPVC windows don't do anyone any favours) but well worth a detour.

Today we had a beer and a sandwich in the John Thompson (careful how you say that) in Ingleby, Derbyshire. Lovely old pub atmosphere, a bit like I remember the Ship in Oundle in the old days. Microbrewery on site, so always guaranteed to have something interesting in tap.
